DOSING & ADMINISTRATION OF FLONASE® ALLERGY RELIEF

DOSING

Convenient, once-daily dosing with Flonase® Allergy Relief1

Adults (18 or older)

  • Use 2 sprays* in each nostril once a day. Do not use more than the recommended dose.
  • If your symptoms are under control after 1 week of use, use 1 spray in each nostril once daily.
  • If you need to use daily for longer than 3 months, check with a doctor.
  • Do not use more than the recommended dose.

Pediatrics and Adolescents (<18 years of age):

Flonase® Allergy Relief is not recommended in this patient population.

Geriatrics (>65 years of age):

No dosage adjustment is required in patients over 65 years of age.

Important

It is important to use Flonase® Allergy Relief regularly for the recommended treatment duration, preferably in the morning.

* Total daily dosage = 200 mcg.

Flonase® Allergy Relief provides relief and works best to relieve allergic rhinitis symptoms when used daily.1-3 Patients may start to feel allergy relief the first day and full effect after several days of regular, once-daily use.1

How to use Flonase® Allergy Relief1

1 Shake

Remove green cap.

2 Prime

Do this when:

  • Starting a new bottle
  • Haven’t used it in a week
  • Just cleaned nozzle

Otherwise go to step 3

Thumb is placed at bottom of Flonase® Allergy Relief bottle and fingers on top to pump spray nozzle until spray comes out

Aim away from face. Grasp spray bottle as shown. Pump until fine mist appears.

Pumped six times and still no mist? Spray nozzle may be clogged.

3 Blow

Blow nose gently to clear nostrils.

Do not spray into your eyes

Warning

Do not spray in your eyes or mouth. Only for use in your nose.

4 Aim

Close one nostril and put tip of spray nozzle in other nostril.

Put just the tip into your nose.

Aim slightly away from centre of nose.

5 Breathe and spray

Finger blocks one nostril and the tip of the spray nozzle is in the other nostril. Hand holding Flonase® Allergy Relief bottle presses down on spray nozzle.

While sniffing gently, press down on spray nozzle once or twice (according to dosing instructions). You’ll feel a light mist in your nose. Breathe out through your mouth.

Repeat in other nostril.

Wipe spray nozzle with clean tissue and replace cap.
